Led by the region's finest teachers, the Hudson Valley Writing Project is pleased to offer online enrichment programs this spring, giving children and teens opportunities to write and connect with one another in welcoming, supportive settings.
Using Images and Words to Explore the World
An online writing community for students ages 11 to 16
Images can be a powerful way for young people to tap into their creativity and life experiences. Our Fresh Voices community will be one where we write together, revise with support, and learn from one another. In this HVWP spring workshop, you will explore the things that are important to you -- your lineage, community, an issue of social justice -- and use images and writing as a springboard for creating a multimedia piece that allows you to share your ideas with others.
Tuesdays and Thursday afternoons on Zoom
May 4, 6, 11, 13, 18, 20, 25, & 27 | 4:00 - 5:30 p.m.
$195 | Tuition assistance is available
Reflections from workshop participants:
"A safe, welcoming, kind, collaborative, and supportive space for multimedia storytelling."
"This course taught me how to draw more people into my writing . . . It opened my eyes to just how many people in this world have things in common with me."
"After using my voice to write about important issues in my world, I feel more sure of myself, like I have a better grip on where I stand."
