Led by the region's finest teachers, the Hudson Valley Writing Project is pleased to offer online enrichment programs this fall, giving children and teens opportunities to write and connect with one another in welcoming, supportive settings.
WONDROUS WRITERS
Ages 8-9
July 6-10 | 9 a.m. - 11 a.m. | $195
Curiosity is the best inspiration for writing! Together, we will explore all sorts of questions as we write, create, and discover more about the world around us.
WRITING FOR FUN
Ages 10-12
July 6-10 | 9 a.m. - 11 a.m. | $195
Exciting writing prompts, art activities, and inspiring virtual field trips will spark our creativity as we learn about and practice the craft of writing.
CREATING COMICS & GRAPHIC NOVELS
Ages 10-12
July 13-17 | 9 a.m. - 12 p.m. | $250
Who doesn't love a story with pictures? We will explore comics, graphic novels, and more as we develop our own characters, write dialogue, and illustrate our original stories to create exciting new texts.
WRITING & ROLE-PLAYING, DUNGEONS & DRAGONS
Ages 12-14
July 6-16 (2 weeks, Monday-Thursday) | 9 a.m. - 12 p.m. | $295
Together we will create characters and write mythic stories, replete with magic and monsters, heroes and villains, then roll the dice and let the adventures (and the battles) begin!
TEEN WRITERS INSTITUTE
Ages 13-17
July 20-24 | 9 a.m. - 12 p.m. | $250
Working in an online, creative workshop setting, we will tell our stories through personal essays, fiction, and poetry. We'll share ideas and respond to each other's work as we polish our writing for an anthology.
WRITING THE COLLEGE ESSAY
Rising juniors and seniors
July 20-24 | 9 a.m. - 12 p.m. | $250
A good college essay communicates who you are and what you believe. We will study essays that work, brainstorm topics, and transform our ideas into solid drafts, as we give and receive feedback in a relaxed, supportive setting.
RISE UP & WRITE
Ages 12-16
July 27-31 | 9 a.m. - 12 p.m. | $225
What kind of world do we want to live in? Join with other teens to explore, write, and speak out about the important issues of our lives. Use your voice! Change the world!
