Ceramics research requires a wide range of technical skills, command of formal and design principles, and knowledge of the history of ceramics, fine art, and contemporary sociopolitical and cultural dialogue.
The Ceramics Department has incorporated 3D design and 3D printing into its core course requirements, demonstrating the department’s commitment to digital technology, a crucial tool in modern ceramics.
The sculpture facilities encompass 10,000 square feet of studio space, and all sculpture BFA students are granted studios and access to all the tools. Individual studio space is provided for both graduate and undergraduate sculpture majors.
Students have studied abroad in Italy and France, and a new overseas study agreement has been forged with the Bezalel Academy of Art and Design in Jerusalem, Israel.
