SUNY-YÖK Dual Diploma Program

Areas of Study: ITU Economics

ITU curriculum and class requirements (4-year plan)

It is my pleasure to welcome you to the Department of Economics at State University of New York at New Paltz. The SUNY-ITU Economics program prepares students for careers in private, public, and nonprofit sectors, and international organizations. The program has a strong mathematical and quantitative components and is also an excellent preparation for graduate studies in economics, finance, business, statistics, law, and international relations. The curriculum has a rigorous, pluralistic, and liberal arts approach to economics with a strong applied component. It emphasizes quantitative and research methods, writing, and effective communications.

The program has the characteristics of a highly competitive liberal arts college—small classes, distinguished faculty, and highly competitive admissions criteria. Yet, you will enjoy access to library and other resources of the great State University of New York system. Being in close proximity to New York City, regular field trips to financial institutions and international organizations will enhance your education. The Economics faculty will challenge you to develop your abilities as an economist to address the problems of the 21st century's global economy. We trust that you will have a rewarding experience here.

I look forward to meeting each of you. For more information about our program, please visit our website.

Best Wishes,

Edith Kuiper, Chair
