NEW GUIDANCE REGARDING STUDENTS’ RETURN TO CAMPUS

Posted on: Tuesday, March 17, 2020 at 5:01 PM

Dear Resident Students:

We write to share NEW guidance from SUNY’s Chancellor to our campus TODAY regarding student housing after spring break. We realize this is a shift from previous guidance and messaging we have provided and reflects the state’s evolving efforts to practice increased social distancing and manage this crisis. PLEASE READ CAREFULLY. We understand this shift in guidance may be jarring and upsetting for our students in this uncertain time. We want to assure you of our steadfast commitment to your safety and to the achievement of your educational goals during this difficult semester as we all navigate this pandemic.

As of today, we are strongly encouraging students not to return to campus after the extended spring break. Students who may return to campus residence halls after March 29 are those who have special circumstances, including international students, students without other safe living and dining arrangements, or those with limited or no access to technology.

Students should indicate whether they need to remain or return to campus housing after March 29 by returning this form no later than March 19. If you previously completed the form and your needs have changed given today’s new guidance from SUNY, please complete the form and submit again.
As always, the Department of Residence Life is here to support you for any questions you have or anything you need. Please reach out to the Office of Residence Life at (845) 257-4444.

Check Out Process

Students who do not need to remain in residence halls after March 29 due to special circumstances MUST collect all belongings by March 29.  We cannot check you out of your room until your belongings have been removed.
