SUNY SYSTEM-WIDE SURVEY
New Paltz faculty and staff are invited to participate in a SUNY-wide survey on the transition from an on-campus to a remote working environment. Employees will receive an email message from survey@suny.edu later today with a link to the survey. Responses will inform future planning at New Paltz and throughout the SUNY system.

The large pollinator-friendly meadow near the Gunk Pond on campus is in full summer bloom. "The meadow is doing great," said Laura Wyeth ’18 (Biology). "Though it is perhaps less floriferous due to the June drought. Yarrow (pictured above) and St. John's wort are blooming there now."
Wyeth serves as the leader of SUNY New Paltz's Biodiversity Initiative. She was the lead author of a Campus Pollinator Habitat Plan that helps the College identify dozens of pollinator-friendly trees, shrubs and perennials to help increase the population of pollinators on campus.

Student Capstones and Thesis Work

It was genuinely difficult to keep up with the staggering volume of galleries, exhibitions, original research and video presentations New Paltz students published at the end of the 2019-20 academic year. We'd like to take time this summer to spotlight individual projects and give this exceptional scholarship and creative work its due.

"Young adults living in and around New Paltz have ample opportunities to eat healthily and sustainably, yet those who are first entering the world of cooking may not be fully aware of these options. 'Mindful Cooking' aims to educate these first-timers on sustainable and healthy food options, helping them find locally grown produce in and around New Paltz, and encouraging them to incorporate healthy recipes into their everyday lives.
