Reopening FAQ of the day
Will employee travel be permitted in fall 2020?
All work-related travel after June 30, 2020, will be very limited and will require pre-approval by the applicable Dean and Provost or Vice President. All pre-approved travel requisitions must be submitted to the travel office prior to travel taking place. If travel is not pre-approved, it will not be reimbursed. All Travel cards have been deactivated to discourage fraudulent activity.
Please be advised that the Governor has also issued a recent Executive Order directing that state employees who voluntarily travel to high-risk states or other countries after June 25 will not be eligible for COVID-19 paid sick leave.
The College's fall 2020 reopening plan is highly detailed and dense, and our corresponding list of FAQs runs to nearly 10,000 words (and counting!). In an effort to make this very important information more digestible for campus community members, we're highlighting questions and answers in this newsletter, one per day, as the fall semester approaches.
Please note: We are working to update and add FAQs as planning continues and this situation evolves. We will prioritize sharing the most current information in this space.

Student Capstones and Thesis Work  
It was genuinely difficult to keep up with the staggering volume of galleries, exhibitions, original research and video presentations New Paltz students published at the end of the 2019-20 academic year. We'd like to take time this summer to spotlight individual projects and give this exceptional scholarship and creative work its due.

Costume Design: She Kills Monsters
Stella Katz ’20 (Theatre Arts)
"For my research for She Kills Monsters, I utilized the SUNY New Paltz library, online databases and other books to explore armour, masks, puppetry, as well as mystical illustration. I began with initial sketches based on my primary research and met with Dungeons and Dragons players to learn about their emotional connection to the online community. Next, I created both hand drawn and digital sketches as I explored new mediums and softwares.
