From Our Community

Throwing it waaay back this Thursday with our friends at Historic Huguenot Street (@huguenotstreet). This photo of the Rosendale Trestle and Joppenbergh Mountain (about 10 minutes north of campus) dates to the 1880s. The cement mines depicted here were a key engine of the Ulster County economy for more than 100 years, producing materials that were used in the Brooklyn Bridge, the Statue of Liberty and the Washington Monument, among other landmarks.
