For this pre-pandemic photo throwback, we're remembering Nov. 12, 2017, when students from the College's Educational Opportunity Program (EOP) celebrated Cultural Appreciation Day with games, food and conversation.
Since the inception of EOP, more than 40,000 SUNY students have received degrees.

Spring 2021 FAQ of the Day
What are the "Mind, Body, Spirit" days? 
SUNY has mandated that spring break be canceled on all SUNY campuses, and that any days off during the semester must fall on midweek days, as part of the system-wide effort to discourage unnecessary travel during the pandemic.
To provide students with five days off from classes that they would have received during spring break, New Paltz will end the semester two days earlier and has scheduled three individual “Mind, Body, Spirit” days that will be distributed as follows:
  • Tuesday, Feb. 23
  • Wednesday, March 24
  • Thursday, April 15
There will be no classes of any modality on these dates.
The Mind, Body, Spirit days are intended to allow students to rest and recharge for the remainder of the semester. For that reason, the College is encouraging faculty to plan test and assignment due dates so they do not fall immediately after the Mind, Body, Spirit days, to reduce pressure on students to spend these days working or studying.

Remember to do the Health Screening every day for two weeks before your first time on campus in spring 2021
New SUNY policy means those planning to be on campus later this month should resume daily screenings now

In-person college instructors now included in Phase 1b of New York’s COVID-19 vaccine distribution
Eligible members of our community may now schedule appointments, though availability is subject to limited federal supply

The Bardavon celebrates alumnus
SUNY New Paltz alumnus John Barry ’93 (Journalism) was recently celebrated on the marquee of the Bardavon 1863 Opera House in Poughkeepsie, New York, for his 20 years of service to the Hudson Valley community. Barry has reported for the Poughkeepsie Journal since 2002, and spent many of those years writing about the local music scene. He left the Journal in December 2020. Read some of Barry's recent work online.
