Honors Thesis in Art History

Interdisciplinary Minor in Film & Video Studies (18-21 Credits)

The departments of Art History and Digital Media & Journalism offer an interdisciplinary minor in Flim and Video Studies. This program provides students with an opportunity to familiarize themselves with reading the arts of cinema as cultural critics, while having the option to learn the basics of screenwriting and production.

While the study of art history is itself interdisciplinary, it comprises aspects of other liberal arts majors including history, language and literature, politics, philosophy, economics, and sociology. As a result courses in art history are a valuable component of many Interdisciplinary Minors offered by the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences at SUNY New Paltz:

Ancient World Studies
Major AND Minor in Asian Studies
Evolutionary Studies
Italian Studies
Medieval & Early Modern Studies
Religious Studies
