Jo Margaret Mano, (PhD, Columbia University, 1985), is a co-coordinator of the New York Geographic Alliance and a past president of the Middle States Division of the Association of American Geographers. She teaches Maps and Graphics, Physical Geography, Cartography, Remote Sensing, as well as Urban Planning. Besides facilitating workshops and making presentations concerning geographic education and historic cartography, she has recently published a chapter titled "Unmapping the Iroquois: New York State Cartography:1792-1845" in The Oneida Indian Journey: From New York to Wisconsin 1784-1860, edited by Laurence M. Hauptman  and L. Gordon McLester III (1999). Professor Mano has taught at SUNY New Paltz since 1980.

Served as "Geographer-in-Residence" and Local Arrangements Coordinator for the statewide New York Geographic Alliance 1996, 1998, and 2001 Summer Geography Institutes at SUNY New Paltz.
