Gender Awareness Movement Enacted by Students (G.A.M.E.S.):  G.A.M.E.S. is a student-initiated advocacy group with the intentions of raising awareness and promoting positive change surrounding gender-related/LGBTQ topics on the SUNY New Paltz campus. Our main focus will be advocating for the implementation of gender-neutral housing/bathroom facilities on campus, but will also include advocacy projects on a range of other gender-related topics. As an organization, we will strive to continuously educate ourselves on these topics through workshops, engaging in open dialogues, exercises, and programming so that we can be better equipped to educate others and push for positive change here at New Paltz. Co-founders of the group are Morgan Anderson, Martin Geraghty and Ruth Lindner. Contact email is: newpaltzgames@gmail.com

New Paltz Feminist Collective: The New Paltz Feminist Collective (NPFC) promotes gender equality. We acknowledge how all systems of oppression are connected and that all voices have the right to be heard. We create a safe space for feminist issues and activist ideas to flourish. In the past we have had consciousness raising discussions, trips to feminist conferences and festivals, events and workshops that focus on women's empowerment, women's health issues, body image, and stopping violence against women, as well as other forms of gender oppression. As a collective, NPFC
provides a space where all in attendance are treated with respect, equality, and understanding. Everyone has a say in what happens and works together without a hierarchal system. When asked who runs the feminist collective, the answer is that you do/we all share and exchange positions of power and empower one another. Weekly meetings are Wednesday's in SUB 418 @ 8pm.

Queer Action Coalition: Queer Action Coalition has been created in order to provide a safe haven for all sexual orientations, as well as being active in the gay community. If you wish to be put on the email list for the group, email us at NewpaltzQAC@gmail.com or attend one of our meetings! Anyone is welcome, regardless of their sexual or gender orientation. The QAC website is currently under construction, but can be visited at www.npqac.weebly.com and http://www.facebook.com/pages/New-Paltz-NY/Queer-Action-Coalition/156941504358   The E-board is currently as follows: E-board-- President- Eleanor Jailer-Coley, Vice-President- Danielle Kingsbury, Secretary-

Take Back the Night works collectively to organize the SUNY New Paltz annual celebration of this event.  This gathering is a symbolic gesture of reclaiming the night of women living in fear that began during the feminist movements of the 1970s.  The group works to educate the public on issues pertaining to violence against women and to reclaim power.  The members of this organization strive to combine education and activism, while learning the fundamental skills of major event planning, including music, security, catering, etc.  For more information, contact Ruth Lindner, President of Take Back the Night 2009(TBTNNP@gmail.com).
