Feminism without Borders--The goal of Feminism without Borders (FWB) is
to focus on the inclusion of under-represented women in feminism. FWB will
focus on these women through our particular historical, cultural, and social
experiences. There is a need to educate our communities about our unique
historical and on-going contributions to fighting against racist, classist,
and sexist oppression. FWB seeks to unravel the snarls of oppression through
collaboration with other on-campus and off-campus organizations to help celebrate
our diverse heritage.
In addition to our bi-weekly meetings we host events including lectures,
films, and demonstrations. We address issues such as environmental racism,
welfare racism, corporate globalization, the prison-industrial complex, the
exploitation of immigrant labor, AIDS and other STIs. FWB welcomes people
from all backgrounds into an environment that fosters continuous awareness
of the lives led by under-represented women from the past and present, in
order to inspire unity and action towards social change. "Unifying to
Educate and be Educated".
