Winter Session at SUNY New Paltz


Matriculated New Paltz undergraduates do not need an advisor's permission to register for Winter and Summer Session courses. However, students are strongly encouraged to speak with their own academic advisor or an advisor in the Academic Advising Center if they have any questions about whether a course will meet a particular requirement. The Academic Advising Center can be reached by calling 845-257-3015 or by stopping by Wooster Hall, Room 106.


Non-matriculated undergraduate students who plan to apply for admission to SUNY New Paltz should make an appointment to discuss their course selection with a transfer advisor in Undergraduate Admissions by calling 845-257-3200.


Graduate students need the permission of the instructor to take an undergraduate course.

To register as a non-matriculated graduate student, please download, sign, and submit the Non-Degree Student Application form under the Registration heading of the The Graduate School / Non-Degree Students web page. Send the form to Alana Matuszewski by email at matuszea@newpaltz.edu or by fax at 845-257-3284.

Non-matriculated graduate students may need to obtain permission before enrolling in some courses. To check a course's prerequisites on the schedule of classes, click on the CRN or course title to view detailed course information including its description, prerequisites, restrictions, and length of course.

Once you have obtained permission to register for a class, send the completed application form and payment for processing. A non-degree record will be created and your registration will be sent to Records and Registration. You will receive an email when registration is complete.
