Joan Barker's photographs have been featured in one-person shows, including OK Harris in NYC, and numerous group exhibitions nationally and internationally. She holds an MFA from the State University of New York at New Paltz. Joan is the recipient of the Village Voice Photography Grant, the New York Foundation for the Arts Fellowship and two Center for Photography at Woodstock Fellowships. Her work is included in the Center for Creative Photography in Tucson, AZ, the Biblioteheque Nationale in France, and the New York Public Library's Division of Arts, Prints and Photographs.

Francois Deschamps is a photographer and book artist, with an MS from the Illinois Institute of Design. He has published 6 artists books and was the recipient of two National Endowment for the Arts fellowships and two New York Foundation for the Arts fellowships.

Graphic designer and writer Anne Galperin joined the faculty at New Paltz in 2001. Professor Galperin received her MFA in 2D Design from Cranbrook Academy of Art in 1997. Her thesis "3D Type in Flatland" examined three-dimensional typography in the context of technological, cultural and design histories. She has written on design for various outlets, including the American Center for Design journal Statements and the Minneapolis-based, Village Voice-owned City Pages. She is the recipient of two merit awards from Bookbuilders West and a Print Magazine Regional Design Award, and has designed more than fifty books and covers for mass-market, art, university and small presses including Chronicle Books, Distributed Art Publishers, Princeton Architectural Press, New York University Press and Four Walls Eight Windows.

Arthur Hoener is a designer with an extensive background in typography, ranging from stone cutting and letterpress to digital type design. He holds an MFA from Rhode Island School of Design. He works as a consultant for public signage projects and commissioned lettering and type design projects.

Ann Lovett works with traditional and digital photography, installations, multimedia and artists' books. She earned an MFA degree from Tyler School of Art. She was the recipient of three Polaroid Artist Support grants, a New York State Council for the Arts grant and a New York Foundation for the Arts fellowship. She was also awarded the SUNY Chancellor's Award for Excellence in Teaching.
