London Theatre Seminar
London Theatre Seminar is an exciting two-week exploration of British theatre and culture. Held during winter recess and led by New Paltz faculty members, this three-credit class is an exceptional opportunity for students. While staying in the heart of London, students experience many activities: participating in classes, visiting English cultural and historical sights, and attending an average of ten plays, ranging from avant-garde theatre to classic Shakespearean drama. Attending forums, sitting in on rehearsals, discussions with British theatre professionals, are a few typical highlights of the trip. The group also enjoys a journey to Shakespeare's birthplace, Stratford-upon-Avon, which includes attendance at a performance of the Royal Shakespeare Company at The Swan Theatre.

New Paltz Summer Repertory Theatre
Celebrating over thirty years of successful summer theatre, the New Paltz Summer Repertory Theatre provides students the unique opportunity of participating in a professional summer season of popular theatre productions. Through participation in this challenging experience, students can get a genuine sense of their own potential for the profession. This can be an opportunity to develop the young person's resume and portfolio, be it in acting, directing, design, stage managing, or technical theatre. Academic credit and scholarship support are often available for students making this summer commitment.

Scholarships
A number of scholarships are available to be awarded specifically to outstanding theatre students: the Bruce Bennett Scholarship, the Dr. Edwin A. Ulrich Theatre Scholarship, and the John Morrow/Vera Rushforth Irwin Scholarship. Additional financial awards are available through the university.
