Educational Talent Search Project

Early Awareness Program

The Talent Search Early Awareness Program is an early intervention program for eighth grade students. It gives the youngsters the opportunity to explore college and career choices and to visit a college campus.

The school-based component is in cooperation with the guidance departments at participating schools. Students are provided with information on how to plan, set goals, and carefully choose their courses in high school in order to keep their college and career options open. The college visit is a follow-up activity designed to motivate these students to continue their education. The visit provides a one-day college experience. Students learn about various majors and admissions requirements, interact with college students and faculty, and tour the campus.
