Immerse Yourself in a Foreign Language
Our intensive language programs feature a choice of twenty languages at levels of instruction from elementary to advanced. The immersion method allows students to become proficient in the shortest possible time. Classes are small and vocabulary, grammar, and sentence structure are taught in a natural, conversational context. Our teachers are experienced, lively and innovative.
The atmosphere is supportive and non-threatening. Credit is available. Classes are ½ price for SUNY New Paltz students, faculty, and staff.
Weekend immersion courses offer fifteen hours of instruction in a format that affords busy individuals the flexibility to attend language courses with the least disruption to their schedules. Weekend courses are available June 5-7, July 10-12, and July 24-26, and offer instruction at all levels.
Two-week sessions are also offered. Participants may enroll in any one session or in a sequence of sessions. For example, a student may enroll in Elementary 1 in the first session and Elementary 2 in the second session. This intensive format permits students to study a language for up to four weeks. Programs provide a total of 50 hours of instruction per two-week session. All levels are available July 6-17 or July 20-31.
Overseas learning vacations to Mexico, Costa Rica, Spain, France, the Dominican Republic, Canada, and Italy are also available.
