SERVICES OF THE STUDENT UNION INFORMATION DESK:

Temporarily located on the 2nd floor lobby of the Student Union, the Information Desk staff will provide you with assistance and information about the SUNY New Paltz campus, offices, programs, and frequently asked questions. The staff is also a great resource for learning about events that take place in the Student Union and campus activities and involvement opportunities around campus. Student clubs with office space in the Student Union also sign keys out from this desk.

NOTE: Please be advised due to construction and our temporary location, the Fraternity and Sorority life mailboxes and the Trailways tickets operation are both available in the Student Activities and Union Services office in Student Union 211.

If you are in need of assistance please feel free to call the information center at x3000.

Office Key Sign-out Procedures
Organizations which are assigned office space in the Student Union Building are asked to submit names of individuals with room privileges using the Student Union Office Access and Key Sign Out Permission List form to Student Activities and Union Services.  There will be a binder at the Information Desk with a list of authorized users and key receipt log.  You must have a New Paltz ID to obtain a key from the staff located at the information desk. Students may only sign out keys for organizations to which they have permission to access.  Many offices are shared by multiple student groups making it imperative that individuals return keys to the Information Desk immediately after use.

Fraternity and Sorority Mail Slot Procedures
During the first two weeks of each semester, each recognized organization is asked to submit names of two mail representatives.  The Office of Student Activities will maintain a binder in the Student Activities and Union Services office with a log of authorized users and signed receipt of mail. We ask that representatives collect their mail on a weekly basis and that only authorized members attempt to sign out mail.

Fraternity and Sorority mail slots are strictly for Sorority, Fraternity and governing board packages. Personal mail should be sent to a personal mailbox.  If you are expecting Priority Mail, please ask the sender for a tracking number. Please note that the Student Activities professional staff does not sign for mail. Rather, mail services signs when it arrives on campus.  There may be a slight time differential between delivery to campus and placement in mail slots.

EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITIES

Each semester the office of Student Activities and Union Services fills various employment vacancies to ensure a smooth operation of the Student Union.  These vacancies are available only to SUNY New Paltz students.  Job listings are posted prior to each semester or time of vacancy.
