Role of the Web Management Office

The Web Management Office oversees the main university Web site (www.newpaltz.edu). It also maintains department Web sites, assists departments in the development of new Web sites, and serves as a consultant to the campus in developing and implementing Web strategies. The Web Management Office is staffed with a Senior Web Producer, Web Production Assistant, Director of Web Communications & Strategic Projects, and works closely with the CIO, Web programmer and system administrator in the Computer Services department.

When a project is submitted to the Web Management Office, a work order is created. Projects will be completed in the order in which they are received, unless the timeliness of another project is determined to take priority. When a brand new Web site is completed, the contact person will be sent a proof. Within 10 days of receiving this proof, the site should be reviewed at the temporary location provided. This is the opportunity to make final adjustments to a Web site before it is launched for the public to view and use./p>

Routine updates to existing sites will be made in a timely fashion through the office's work order process, or by using our content management system, OmniUpdate, and will be notified when the changes are completed and available on the live site.
