Typography

Typeface

Spectrum is the typeface used in the logo and is the preferred typeface for all "State University of New York at New Paltz" headlines. Garamond and Times Roman are similar and acceptable.

Headline Format

One-line heading:
upper and lower case, use "at"

State University of New York at New Paltz

Two-line heading:
"at" not used
"State University of New York" centered over "New Paltz," upper and lower case or all caps
"New Paltz" heavier weight and larger size than "State University of New York"

SUNY
All caps, no hyphen, no comma, no slash, no periods.

Round Type with Image
The type from the shield is occasionally used in publications and on the Web site with an image incorporated. Images used in this logo most often have softened edges. It is not considered a logo and is used sparingly. The proportions may not be altered. The logotype itself is never used without something in the center.
