Style Guide: Image Guide

Logo

State University of New York at New Paltz is identified by a wordmark¡ªa word used as a logotype that can be easily read and understood at a glance. It was approved by the cabinet in 1995 after a year of research, visual audits and review by the Institutional Image Group. The typeface is Spectrum, and the wordmark always appears with the bar attached to the baseline.

  • It should be included prominently on all materials that represent the institution. [This should generally be the outside front cover, occasionally the outside back cover.]
[N.B. Prominently does not necessarily mean large.]
  • It should be reproduced from an authorized copy only.
[Contact Publications for electronic or hard copy. See Web Guide for approved versions to use online.]
  • It should not be reproportioned or modified in any way.
  • It should not be rotated or scaled.
  • It should be reproduced in blue (see "colors" at the end of this guide) or black.

Individual Identification

Individual identification for schools or divisions is designed to create unification with the identity of the institution. A specific school or division identifier is not to be used for primary identification.

  • The typeface for a school or division identification attached to the wordmark must be Spectrum.
  • The individual wordmark should follow all standards for the original wordmark noted above.
