Summer Dance Program in Prague

Location

Prague is one of the most beautiful cities of Europe. Its unique beauty is guarded on two sides by ancient castles, located on rocks above the Vlatava river. They call Prague "mother of cities", "Hundred-spired Prague". Prague stays in your memory forever. Beautiful, mysterious, exciting, and full of people from all over the world. Prague continues to attract the young traveler looking for the "European Experience". To experience this city as an artist is a joy! - To dance here is magical and unforgettable. At every corner, there is a new discovery to continually surprise and challenge you!

Academic Program

The program is directed by Lynn Barr, former soloist with the New York City Opera, Paul Sanasardo Dance Company and artistic director of the Lynn Barr Dance Company. She has taught extensively in the United States, Germany, Italy and Poland. The program includes an intensive workshop in modern dance (Monday to Saturday), four to five hours daily and culminates with two on-location performances in Prague.

This program is geared to serious dance students and has an emphasis on developing performance skills. Additional workshops by visiting artists to be announced.

Language of Instruction

The program is taught in English.

Credits

Upon successful completion of the program, 3 undergraduate credits are awarded.

Qualifications

Students must have substantial prior dance training. It is not geared to beginners.  A cumulative GPA of 2.5 or higher is also required.

Housing

In Prague students are housed in 3 star hotels in the city's center, within walking distance of all major tourist attractions. Rooms are large and will be double and triple occupancy and include a buffet breakfast. A meal allowance for dinners in Prague's restaurants will be provided.
