Hello, my name is Fousseni Baba. I am originally from Togo, a small country in West Africa. I am a senior, studying International Business and international Economics here at New Paltz. My goal for 2018, is to give back to our wonderful community (New Paltz), as well as joining Peace Corps after my graduation. I am excited and looking forward to meet you. I am here to assist you, and don’t forget to stop by the Center for Student Success if needed. Have an amazing semester!
Hi, I’m Bianca! I’m a Psychology major with an English minor who will graduate in 2018. I am thrilled to join the Center for Student Success as a Peer Academic Success Coach! My goal as a PASC is to show that everyone has the opportunity to succeed given the resources and encouragement. Besides being a PASC I am also a Yoga Instructor at the Athletic and Wellness Center as well as the President of Dumbledore’s Army of New Paltz, the charity and activism club that uses the themes in Harry Potter to make a difference! In my free time I love listening to podcasts and reading every novel I can get my hands on.
Hello, my name is Kimberly but you can just call me Kim! I am currently a senior in the School of Business pursuing two majors in Business Management and Marketing. My position at the moment is an Academic Success Coach. I chose to become a Coach because I have a strong desire to help others and I feel that I have had enough experience in my past to be able to give knowledgeable advice. Although I am not very good at it, one of my hobbies includes painting. I also enjoy expanding my knowledge and learning new languages. Aside from English I know Spanish and Italian, and hopefully soon enough French! I am a very friendly person with a bubbly personality so I hope to be able to coach you one day!
Hello! My name is Kaitlyn and I am a Peer Academic Success Coach. I am a Senior Biology major with a minor in Environmental Studies. I became an Academic Coach because I wanted to help other students be the best version of themselves they can be! Organization and time management are a major part of my daily life and I love to share skills and techniques that I’ve learned with others. One of my favorite things about working with my peers is the constant opportunity to grow as a student myself as others do the same! Aside from schoolwork, my hobbies include reading, cooking, hiking and spending time outdoors. Getting involved in the campus community is also very important to me. In addition to being a PASC, I am a Sustainability Ambassador and a Transfer Liaison. My main interests include ecology, environmental conservation and endangered animals. It is my dream to become a biology teacher and share my passion for the natural world with others. Until then, I look forward to helping you make this semester a success!
Hello everyone! My name is Caroline Flores and I am a third year student attending SUNY New Paltz. My major is Mathematics with three minors in Spanish, Economics and Black Studies. I am grateful to have the opportunity to be a Peer Academic Success Coach. What I look forward to is helping my fellow peers in essential skills for a successful time at SUNY New Paltz. I also am looking forward to learning from my peers as well as helping them achieve academic excellence. A fun fact about me is I love to dance as I am a part of two dance teams of campus, Impacto Sensual and New Paltz Dance Team.
Hello everyone! My name is Maxine and I'm one of the Peer Academic Success Coaches at the Center for Student Success. I'm a junior majoring in Visual Arts Education with a concentration in photography. When I'm not working on campus, I work at the Hebrew school in town. I chose to become a PASC because I remember how hard it was for me to transition to a university setting when I was a Freshman. The resources available to me were a huge help, and I want to pay that forward and help others. If I'm not working, you can find me wrapped in a blanket watching Stranger Things or Black Mirror.
Hey, my name is Alexandra but you can call me Sasha. I’m a Sophomore, I am a Peer Mentor in the Honors Program here at New Paltz, I am contract majoring in Linguistics and minoring in Philosophy and Studio Art. I love all sorts of adventures: from backpacking, rock-climbing and spelunking in the Appalachian Mountains, to sailing a ketch through the North Atlantic Ocean, to working on a biodynamic farm in Costa Rica, to spontaneously moving to Germany for a year, to just walking to Tops supermarket with my friends at 3 o’clock in the morning for no reason at all. I like to live life to the fullest, my favorite food is sushi, my favorite color is orange, and I am super excited to be a Peer Academic Success Coach!
Hello! My name is Paul, and I am currently a senior in Electrical Engineering. After finishing my associate's at Dutchess Community College in the Spring of 2016, I transferred here for the fall semester. I started at DCC 10+ years after high school - during that time I worked a variety of jobs: driving trucks in Wisconsin, underwater welding on oil platforms in the Gulf of Mexico, warehouse work, installing insulation, and more. As a non-traditional student with a variety of experiences, I am excited to bring a different perspective to the PASC roster. While at DCC I worked as a peer tutor, and I have since missed the opportunity to connect with students and the campus community, so I am especially excited to be working as a PASC here at New Paltz. I look forward to meeting with you, and thanks for reading!
