Hi, I'm Katrina! I'm a Senior and a Psychology Major with a minor in Creative Writing. I'm so excited to be a Peer Academic Success Coach! I chose to become a PASC because as a first-year student and as I continue to grow and learn at New Paltz, other peers have supported me with my goals and academic endeavors. I hope to be able to do the same thing for other students. Some of my favorite things to do are crafts, participating in my Hall Government, and marathoning Law and Order.
Hi, I’m Bianca! I’m a Psychology major with an English minor who will graduate in 2018. I am thrilled to join the Center for Student Success as a Peer Academic Success Coach! My goal as a PASC is to show that everyone has the opportunity to succeed given the resources and encouragement. Besides being a PASC I am also a Yoga Instructor at the Athletic and Wellness Center as well as the Vice President of Dumbledore’s Army of New Paltz, the charity and activism club that uses the themes in Harry Potter to make a difference! In my free time I love listening to podcasts and reading every novel I can get my hands on.
Hey there! My name is Dani and I’m one of the Peer Academic Success Coaches here at the Center for Student Success. I’m a senior, and I’m majoring in English/Creative Writing with a minor in Psychology. I’m a Night Host in Lefevre Hall as well (and an avid Game of Thrones fan), so I like to tell people that I’m on the Night’s Watch. I’m from Long Island, New York, and of course I love to spend nights on the boardwalk by the ocean. Being a Writing major, I enjoy reading quite a bit. What most people don’t know, however, is that I’m a huge music fanatic. I’ve been singing for twelve years, and I spend a ton of my free time at concerts. I decided to become a PASC because I truly believe that being focused, goal oriented, and organized are qualities that can benefit everyone every day of their lives. As much as I love learning new things, college can be overwhelming and stressful, but there’s no reason anyone should feel alone. I’m looking forward to working with everyone this semester (and beyond!), and I can’t wait to see what amazing things we can accomplish together.
Welcome all! I'm Dana and I'm a Business Management major currently in my Senior year. I'll be graduating in the Fall of 2017. I plan to pursue my Master's degree after I have a few years of experience in the field of business. I want to concentrate in Human Resources. I'm also a Transfer Liaison on campus and transferred to New Paltz in the Spring of 2016. I'm currently on the Dean's Student Advisory Board and through them I'm a part of the new School of Business' Mentorship Program. I've recently joined the American Marketing Association, American Management Association and Enactus. The reason why I chose to become a Coach was because I knew how it felt to have a big transition myself and at times it gets overwhelming. I want to be the lending hand any student can come to and feel comfortable to ask as many questions and come to as many meetings that you feel fit. I feel this role ties into my career aspirations; I wish to be a Human Resources Manager one day because I want to make sure that work standards are above and beyond. I want to have employees feel comfortable coming to work; just like how the students should always feel comfortable coming to the Center for Student Success. In my free time I enjoy going to concerts, spending time with family and friends, and swimming!
Hello, my name is Kimberly but you can just call me Kim! I am currently a senior in the School of Business pursuing two majors in Business Management and Marketing. My position at the moment is an Academic Success Coach. I chose to become a Coach because I have a strong desire to help others and I feel that I have had enough experience in my past to be able to give knowledgeable advice. Although I am not very good at it, one of my hobbies includes painting. I also enjoy expanding my knowledge and learning new languages. Aside from English I know Spanish and Italian, and hopefully soon enough French! I am a very friendly person with a bubbly personality so I hope to be able to coach you one day!
Hello, my name is John. I would really enjoy helping you become the best student you can be. I myself am a transfer student, a commuter and a Veteran. I am majoring in Electrical Engineering and I am a senior. If you identify with any of the labels (or even not at all) please come in and let me share my insight into how you can grow to your full potential.
Hello! My name is Kaitlyn and I am a Peer Academic Success Coach. I am a senior Biology major with a minor in Environmental Studies. I became an Academic Coach because I wanted to help other students be the best version of themselves they can be! Organization and time management are a major part of my daily life and I love to share skills and techniques that I’ve learned with others. One of my favorite things about working with my peers is the constant opportunity to grow as a student myself as others do the same! Aside from schoolwork, my hobbies include reading, cooking, yoga, hiking and spending time outdoors. Getting involved in the campus community is also very important to me. In addition to being a PASC, I am a transfer liaison and the Vice President of Biology Club. My main interests include ecology, environmental conservation and endangered animals. It is my dream to become an ecologist and use science to promote understanding of our planet and to better the world. Until then, I look forward to helping you make this semester a success!
Hi everyone, my name is Cherifatou Kabore and I am a current senior at SUNY New Paltz. I am double majoring in Sociology and Black Studies with a minor in Women Gender's and Sexuality studies. I go by the pronouns She/her/hers. My hobbies include cooking, reading, and spending time with my two younger brothers. Being selected as a Peer Academic Success Coach at the Center for Student Success counts as one of my major accomplishments here at New Paltz. Therefore, before I end my last semester here, I am looking forward to providing help and support to those in need as well as learning new skills and gaining more leadership experience as I embark on this new opportunity as a Peer Academic Success Coach!
