Secondary Education for Science & Math Story

Thinking

10/06/2009

The fall semester for 2009 has been wonderful. Students are enjoying the beautiful weather and classes as they model problem solving techniques and try to solve complex thinking paradigms.

Astronomy students try to figure out what professor Millham means by elliptical orbits.

Are you sure the elastic band went that far? Where is your proof?

And we thought ‘lunchables’ were only for an eat fest.

I do believe the think tube is a thoughtful process. What do you think?

In the news, mathematics teacher and department chair, Debra Calvins, from the Valley Central School District in Montgomery, NY, received the teacher of the year award and will be honored at a reception on 12/10/2009 from 3:30-6:00 in the SUB multi-purpose room. Debra is a New Paltz alumnus and we congratulate her achievements.
