Applying to Programs

For current students already at SUNY New Paltz

To apply to the undergraduate program in Adolescence Education, please pick up an application from the Department of Secondary Education, Old Main Building 323 or download below. Applications must be returned to the department by:

March 31 to be accepted for the fall semester
Oct. 31 to be accepted for the spring semester.

For transfer students applying to SUNY New Paltz

To apply to the undergraduate program in Adolescence Education, you must first be accepted to the college. As part of the application process, the Office of Admissions (http://www.newpaltz.edu/admissions/) will mail an application for the Adolescence Education program to you. The deadlines for application to the College are:

April 1 to be accepted for the fall semester
Nov. 1 to be accepted for the spring semester

The application for the Adolescence Education program must be returned promptly to the Department of Secondary Education (Old Main Building 323).


For students applying to the Graduate Program

To apply to a graduate program in Adolescence Education (MAT/MSED), you will need to apply to The Graduate School. The application is available on their site (http://www.newpaltz.edu/graduate/). The deadlines for application are:

For the fall:
Review of applications for the fall semester will begin March 1. Late applications will be considered; however, enrollment for the fall semester is not guaranteed.  Please note that MAT science, math and foreign language students starting the program in the fall semester may take longer than the three semesters outlined.

For the spring:
Review of applications for the spring semester will begin Oct. 1. Late applications will be considered; however, enrollment for the spring semester is not guaranteed.

April 15 to be accepted into the Second Language Education program (fall only).  Late applications will be considered; however, enrollment for the fall semester is not guaranteed.

 NOTE: These deadlines are a month before those for several other graduate programs.
