The Sculpture Program attended the International Sculpture Conference in Chicago, Illinois, October 4-6. On the way, we toured the Sculpture Center and SPACES Gallery in Cleveland, Ohio.

Sculpture students also commenced an ongoing socially-engaged art project, entitled "I AM" along the way.  You can find out more about the project at whatiam.org. Project funded thanks to Campus Auxilliary Services.

Maureen McCourt and Priscilla Dobler, current MFA candidates, perform their work, Sit and Knit at "Collaborative Concepts," Saunders Farm and in collaboration with Susan Osberg's "Tree" at the Samuel Dorsky Museum at SUNY New Paltz.

Steve Rossi, MFA alum and sculpture instructor, has a solo exhibition of his work at the Gallery Aferro in Newark, New Jersey. He also rolled his "Reciprocal Ladder" down the length of 14th Street for the Art in ODD Places Festival. artinoddplaces.org  | exhibition review here

Jeremy Holmes, sculpture BFA alum and Windgate Fellowship winner, has his work showing at the Bloom Art Fair in Cologne, Germany, exhibited by Galerie Isabelle Lesmeister.  www.bloom.de

Mike Hall, sculpture BFA alum, presented a lecture on his work in the MFA program at the School of the Art Institute, Chicago.

Daniel Bejar, sculpture MFA alum, presents his work "Get Lost" in the Conflux Festival 2012 at NYU's Barney Building. Opening reception: Saturday, October 20, 6-8 p.m. at the NYU Barney Building. confluxfestival.org

Emily Puthoff, associate professor of art, is exhibiting her work, "Poppy" in the 2011 Digital/Electronic Arts NYFA Fellows Exhibit at NYFA HQ in Dumbo, New York. Exhibition review here:

Christine Regula, current sculpture BFA, was awarded an Arrowmont Scholarship to study pewter-forming at Arrowmont School of Arts and Crafts, Gatlinburg, Tennessee, in the summer of 2012. arrowmont.org

Her thesis exhibition features many of the pewter skills she obtained at Arrowmont. Her thesis exhibition opens Friday, Dec. 7, 2012, at the Chandler Gallery, Samuel Dorsky Museum of Art, SUNY New Paltz. www.newpaltz.edu/museum/
