SUNY New Paltz students visit gallery opening of New Paltz alum Michael Brown

Michael Brown (BFA'06) welcomes New Paltz students to his gallery opening

Students of the Sculpture program at SUNY New Paltz came to meet and celebrate one of their own on Saturday, September 7th in New York City.

The work of Michael Brown (BFA '06) is on exhibition at the Michael Weiss Gallery September 7 through October 12, 2013. This is Michael's first solo show at the prestigious gallery. The title of the show is Michael Brown: Schematics and Silhouettes and is described as "Employing rusted steel rods, oxidized copper, and graphite illustration, Brown presents a dynamic corpus of sculpture that reexamines our relationship with industry and culture in the vein of arte povera."

New Paltz students were able to meet with the artist and discuss his work, his time as a student at SUNY New Paltz, and the state of the arts in the world today.
