Admissions

Undergraduate Admissions

All applicants to the New Paltz Art Program are required to submit a portfolio of work directly to the Art Department concurrently with or after application to the college itself. Early submission of portfolios is strongly encouraged. Once accepted to the Art Program following a freshman or transfer portfolio review, an Art Student is either a Bachelor of Art (BA) in Visual Art major or a Bachelor of Science (BS) in Visual Arts.

BFA Admissions
To enter the Bachelor of Fine Arts Degree program (BFA) with a concentration in Sculpture, the student must apply to the program through a portfolio review and interview. Students should apply to the BFA program prior to completing 70 credit hours. The Sculpture Program conducts interviews before pre-registration every semester. Please contact the Sculpture faculty to express interest in an interview by e-mailing bradfors@newpaltz.edu or puthoffe@newpaltz.edu. See the BFA Sculpture Portfolio Requirements and Procedures* for curriculum guidelines and portfolio review requirements.
