Mr. Thompson is Chairman of Millrock Technology Inc. of Kingston, NY a scientific equipment manufacutrer, founded by TN Thompson Jr. Millrock offers Freeze Drying equipment and services to the pharmaceutical and biotech markets.

Mr. Thompson was the Founder/President of FTS Systems Inc. of Stone Ridge, an international scientific equipment manufacturer. He sold the company in 1996 and semi-retired in 1998. Prior to establishing his own company he was Executive Vice President of The VirTis Company Inc. of Gardiner, New York, also a scientific instrument manufacturer. He served as an Air Force officer for three years with the National Security Agency (NSA) in the communications field. 

Mr. Thompson was educated at Columbia University in New York City. He received a Bachelor of Arts from the College in 1956, a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering in 1957, and a Masters in Business in 1970.

He has participated in many community and business organizations. He is Chairman Emertitus of the SUNY Business Advisory Council. He was President and Director of the Council of Industry of Southern New York, and the Ulster County Development Corporation. He has been a Director of Key Bank, Pattern for Progress, SUNY New Paltz Foundation, and Music in the Mountains. He participated in many professional organizations such as - IEEE, Parenteral Drug Association, Cryobiology Society etc. He is considered an expert in the area of Freeze-Drying and has lectured on the subject throughout the world. He holds six US patents, mainly on the automation of the process.
