Irene Berner, CFP®, is the principal of Berner Financial Services, a New Paltz-based company that provides life planning and professional asset management. Ms. Berner has worked in the financial industry since 1986. She is a certified financial planner, holds both securities and insurance licenses in numerous states, and is an investment advisor. She formed her company in 1996 and is affiliated with LPL Financial, the largest independent broker/dealer in the country. Her articles on life planning, retirement and investments have appeared in the Hudson Valley's In Focus magazine, and she has contributed to the business section of the Times Herald-Record.
Ms. Berner serves as secretary on the board of the New Paltz Rotary Club of which she has been a member since 1999. She is currently the President of the Wallkill Valley Rail Trail Association. She is a member of the New Paltz Regional Chamber of Commerce and the Hudson Valley Estate Planning Council.
She has run two marathons and two half marathons as a way of raising money for charities. Her last adventure was hiking in the Grand Canyon for the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society in May 2012.
Ms. Berner holds a B.S. in Finance from SUNY New Paltz. She is the proud mother of two incredible daughters and doting grandmother of three delightful grandkids.
