Jan Bell has been a marketing research consultant since July 2003 when she retired from CLT Research Associates/Protocol Research Solutions in New York City as Vice President Client Services and Group Research Manager. Previously, Ms. Bell had held senior positions at Decisions Center/Research International, Daniel Yankelovich and J. Walter Thompson Advertising...in all, over 35 years of marketing research experience. Her clients included Fortune 500 companies in consumer packaged goods and financial services. Her experience encompassed a wide variety of research methodologies for problem solving, both qualitative and quantitative, with particular emphasis on large-scale, strategic studies designed to help companies define and understand their targets and how to market to them.
Ms. Bell is also a Real Estate (Associate) Broker serving the mid-Hudson area.
Prior to starting a career in marketing research, Ms. Bell was an instructor at the University of Maine, Portland campus, taught school at the secondary level in the Boston area, and was a tutor in Switzerland, where she lived for several years.
Her undergraduate education was at MIT and Boston University; her graduate studies were at the University of Lausanne in Switzerland, and The New School for Social Research.
In addition to SUNY New Paltz School of Business, Ms. Bell is involved with several local agencies, either as a member of the Board of Directors or as a volunteer.
