Students who attend the School of Business at SUNY New Paltz find it a place where challenging courses, strong academic majors in business, and a solid liberal arts foundation help develop the skills needed to prepare for the challenges of today's business environment. It is a program that is characterized by a faculty and staff who care about people and devote time getting to know students.
The School of Business is an accredited member of AACSB International – the Association to Advance Collegiate School of Business. AACSB accreditation represents the highest achievement for an educational institution that awards business degrees.
We offer Bachelor of Science degrees in Accounting, Finance, General Business, International Business, Marketing, and Management, as well as a Master in Business Administration (MBA) and an MBA in Public Accountancy.
The School of Business is comprised of approximately 850 undergraduates and 100 MBA students. Our commitment to excellent teaching is demonstrated by the high quality of our faculty, teamwork, and practical application. Our business student associations provide students with numerous leadership and educational opportunities in and out of the classroom. Workshops, conferences, Business Plan Contest, Investment Competition, debates, consulting and many more activities are available for students to gain a broader educational experience. Furthermore, the School of Business works closely with our campus' Career Resource Center to provide training and services to optimize our students' internship and/or job searches. We provide our students with a writing assistant, math assistant and library liaison. We pride ourselves on offering students a truly comprehensive academic experience.
Located mid-way between Albany, the state capital, and New York City, our 216-acre campus is an ideal atmosphere for learning, whether in the classroom, in our state-of-the-art computer lab, through over 250 international overseas study abroad programs, or through internships and community service projects. A full complement of student support services and extra curricular activities allow the University's 6,000 undergraduate students and 1,400 graduate students to participate and enjoy special interests, athletics, and the opportunity to develop the leadership skills that build individual competence. New Paltz is regionally accredited by the Middle States Association of Colleges and Secondary Schools.
