Residence Life
Bliss Hall

Learn the history of the building's name

Bliss Hall is a residence hall within the Parker complex. The Parker complex is composed of the traditional corridor style hallways with a single sex bathroom shared by all residents of the floor or house, which is maintained by the Custodial Staff. Students who live in the corridor style buildings enjoy a lot of activity and interaction with the members of their house. Lounges can be found on each of the floors. Located in the basement of Bliss Hall are two laundry rooms with washers and dryers, a recycling room, a bike rack, a study lounge, and a computer room. The first floor accommodates vending machines and a microwave oven. T.V. lounges are located on both the first and third floors. Bliss Hall is a diverse, co-educational residence hall. The staff and residents work together in creating community and traditions. Bliss Hall involves its residents in sharing and developing common interests and goals. Bliss Hall is in close proximity to the theaters, Health Center, campus gym, track, and tennis courts.

History: The hall is named after John Carlton Bliss, the fourth principal of New Paltz Normal (1908-1923).
