SUNY New Paltz Programs at the Rockland Teachers Center Institute (RTCI)

Certificate of Advanced Study (CAS)

Are you considering  an Administrative Position?  Moving from the classroom to something different? Want the convenience of taking courses close to home? Taking graduate courses at an affordable price?

SUNY New Paltz offers their New Accelerated 15 month cohort program in Educational Administration in collaboration with the Rockland Teachers Center Institute.

Advance your career in just 15 months with a rigorous, clinically-rich Certificate of Advanced Study (CAS) leading to New York State certification in School Building Leader (SBL) and School District Leader (SDL).

Take courses at a convenient site – Tuxedo High School –  on weekends; summer internships.  Be a part of a professional community of students, together working toward becoming school leaders in their communities.

Our new program integrates applied fieldwork with topical coursework to meet the needs of working professionals.  This 30 credit program will equip you with the theories, strategies, and confidence required of exemplary school leaders.

Remember:   State certification is needed for New York State supervisory positions.

Master’s in Literacy Grades B-6 or 5-12

Our program is committed to the enhancement of preparing caring, critical and reflective professionals to maximize student success.

We offer coursework that enables you to obtain your literacy credential so you can:

  • Become a literacy specialist, working one-on-one with struggling readers and writers
  • Be a literacy leader at your school or in your district
  • Support ALL students with the literacy demands they face
  • Increase your employment options by expanding your curriculum-writing and professional development leadership skills

Consider the SUNY New Paltz 36-credit master’s in Literacy offered in collaboration with the Rockland Teachers Center Institute.  All coursework with the exception of one class can be completed on location in Rockland, and some courses are offered on-line or in hybrid formats.  The program is both rigorous and reasonably priced.
