Fall 2009 Pool Hours

Monday-Friday: 11:30 a.m. - 2:00 p.m.
Monday & Wednesday: 8:00 p.m. - 10:00 p.m.
Tuesday & Thursday: 8:30 p.m.-10:00 p.m.
Saturday: 1:00 p.m. -3:00 p.m.
Sunday: 6:00 p.m - 9:00 p.m.

No REC swim on Saturday, Nov. 14, because of a varsity swim meet scheduled for that day. Come out and support the Hawks!


Elting Pool Membership

This form is for members of the community, spouses and domestic partners of current Faculty and Staff, and additional family members of current Faculty and Staff who would like to use Elting Pool.


Learn To Swim

Interested in learning how to swim? Well now you can! Sign up now to take lessons from our trained instructors!

Cost:

This payment of $10 covers up to four pool sessions. Payment must be made in cash or check at time of first lesson. Checks must be made out to SUNY New Paltz Athletics.

Sessions:

Sessions will be two times per week, for two consecutive weeks. Other sessions may be discussed on an individual basis with the instructor. Class size will be no more than two participants to one instructor.

1) Beginner: Comfort in water, submerging your head, floating, etc.
2) Intermediate: Freestyle
technique, breathing techniques, pushoffs
3) Advanced: More detailed freestyle technique, flip turns, off stroke instruction including basics in breaststroke, backstroke and butterfly

How do you sign up?

If you are a student, faculty, staff, alumni, or retired faculty with a valid SUNY ID and would like to sign up, please fill out the form and return it to Scott Whitbeck in Elting Gym 106 A, located on the pool deck. Forms are located throughout the gym and on the pool deck.


Community Swim Program

Semester:(participants may use the natatorium during open swim hours)

Individual Community Swimmer Membership
$75 Per semester
$150 Per academic year (fall & spring semesters)
$75 Summer Sessions

Family Community Swimmer Membership (up to 4 members)
$150 Per semester
$300 Per academic year (fall & spring semesters)
$150 Summer Sessions

Additional family members for Family Community Swimmer Membership
(Over initial 4 members with family membership.)
$50 Per year/ Per Person

Spouse/children (over 16) of current Faculty or Staff
$10 Per year/ Per Person
(This fee is for processing of membership card)
