Art History Short Takes

The faculty of the Art History Department will offer five 10-minute presentations on objects in the museum's permanent collection. Judy Barranger discusses an ancient Egyptian relief sculpture. Ellen Konowitz examines a baroque object. Elizabeth Brotherton will talk about an object from the museum's Asian holdings. Bill Rhoads offers background on a sketchbook by American artist Thomas Cole. Reva Wolf will asses a print by modern master R.B. Kitaj.

Broadway: Thoroughly Modern Millie u/s Jimmy, Trevor Graydon. NY Workshops: Altar Boyz, The Great Gatsby and Little Mary Sunshine. Regional: West Side Story (Tony), Most Happy Fella (Joey), Damn Yankees (Joe).

Lisa Brescia - Amneris
Lisa joins the Broadway company of Aida having played Amneris for the past year in the First National Tour. Also on Broadway she was seen in Jesus Christ Superstar. Regionally she played Petra in A Little Night Music and Meg in Brigadoon, both at Goodspeed's Norma Terris Theatre. For five years, Lisa toured worldwide as a "Mama" with The Mamas and The Papas with original members John Phillips and Denny Doherty. She is a graduate of the American Academy of Dramatic Arts, was a member of the Academy Repertory Company, and the recipient of the Academy's Lawrence Langer Speech Award and the Charles Jehlinger Award for excellence in acting. She lives in New Jersey with her partner, Craig Carnelia.

Eric LaJuan Summers - Mereb
Eric is proud to be making his Broadway debut with AIDA! Eric, a St. Louis native, studied at AMDA in NYC. His favorite credits include: Sportin Life in Porgy and Bess (International and National Tour), Simon in Jesus Christ Superstar, Horace in Olympus on my Mind, Lawanda in Colored Museum, Jeff in Suburbia, Danny in Baby, Grease, and Anything Goes.
