Offensive posting found in residence hall
DATE: October 22, 2013

10/22/2013: The University Police Department (UPD) is investigating a racially offensive posting in a campus residence hall, and welcomes any information that might help in identifying the perpetrator(s) of this incident. UPD and the College condemn any such hateful postings anywhere on the campus, and are eager to pursue appropriate judicial and/or criminal action against those responsible. Whenever such incidents are observed, we encourage immediate reporting to UPD (phone 2222). Unfortunately, this most recent incident was first discovered and posted on social media, and we were informed about it indirectly roughly 36 hours later, hindering our investigation. UPD is currently pursuing active leads on this and the investigation continues.

Any information on this case can be forwarded to UPD in one of several methods;

Dial 2222 from any campus phone or 845.257.2222 from an outside line.
Dial 845.257.2230 to access our automated anonymous tip line
