International Observe the Moon Night
11/15/2010
September 18 was International Observe the Moon Night
(http://observethemoonnight.org/ ). InOMN began at several NASA institutions and has now expanded to include many observatories around the world. We at SUNY New Paltz participated by opening Smolen Observatory to the public and pointing our telescopes at the moon. About 100 visitors of all ages, including several members of the local Mid-Hudson Astronomical Association, stopped by to look at the moon and get a commemorative key chain flashlight.
