A New Telescope for the Smolen Observatory

Astronomy Professor Amy Forestell (standing, middle), has started to assemble equipment for the Smolen Observatory that is due to open for use later this term. Interested SUNY New Paltz students stop by one sunny day as Professor Forestell's team tries out a newly arrived telescope by focusing on the Mohonk Tower on the nearby Shawangunk ridge.
