Interdisciplinary Study of Wound Healing
10/19/2007
Ryan Vinson (2009) is a physics major working on an interdisciplinary project involving planaria, the well-known flatworm that looks as if it is cross-eyed, and regenerates itself when cut in half. Ryan is developing a superfine probe to investigate minute electrical currents that investigators in the project believe might play a role in healing of wounds.
An experimental project can turn into quite a journey. All sorts of problems can pop up, and the experimenter becomes an expert on things that he or she never expected!

Ryan Vinson makes some final adjustments before turning up the juice to plate his superfine filaments.
