High Above & Down Below

Amy Donnelly, director of our planetarium, makes some minor adjustments to the Spitz star projector before classes begin. Among other activities, Amy will be teaching a special course in planetarium operation this semester.
Two huge steam pipes, part of the College's reconstruction of the campus-wide heating system, snake their way through the solid concrete wall of the physics building. The pipes carry steam at 400 degrees F from a central heating plant. Hopefully all the laws of physics are being obeyed.
Undergraduate Research Poster Session
05/15/2008
Prof. Stacie Nunes enjoys a chat with Ryan Vinson, a physics student who presented his research at the annual New Paltz undergraduate research poster session. Ryan is developing a probe to measure minute electric fields generated by the flatworm planaria. It's part of a project to investigate biogenic electric fields and their relation to wound healing.
