processing filmThe program provides access to a variety of studios, including darkrooms for black and white and color processes, a lighting studio, alternative process facilities, two computer laboratories with multimedia capabilities, and the college's web server and facilities of other areas in the Art Department. The Samuel Dorsky Museum of Art, which adjoins the Smiley Art Building, presents exhibitions of historical and contemporary importance and related interpretive programs. The permanent collection, numbering over 2000 objects, includes strong emphases in American, European, and Asian prints and a significant collection of photographs.

Other Local Resources

The programs of the nearby Womens' Studio Workshop, a nationally acclaimed artists book facility, include exhibitions, residencies, and studios in which artists work on projects in photography, printmaking and book production. The Center for Photography at Woodstock offers exhibitions, lectures, workshops, and internships in its nationally recognized photography program. Additional museum resources located in the area include the Black Center for Curatorial Studies at Bard College and the Francis Lehman Loeb Art Center at Vassar College. New York City museums and galleries are 90 miles from the campus, and are easily accessible by bus or train.
