Graduate

The Paintng and Drawing curriculum encompasses technical, conceptual, and theoretical aspects of both mediums. Graduate student work covers a broad range, from traditional techniques on paper and canvas to innovative combinations of materials and formats. Critiques and seminars develop students' verbal and critical skills, and address the relationship between art and culture. Students explore critical concerns in contemporary art and develop a personal direction and expertise in their work. New lines of investigation in the field are encouraged as students assess their work in a contemporary context. Graduate study provides a balance of intensive studio experience with critical and theoretical dialog.
