Assistant Vice-President Jacqueline Andrews came to SUNY New Paltz in 2006 from SUNY Delhi, where she had been Dean of Information Systems since 2000. Prior to coming to SUNY, Jackie spent 15 years at Washtenaw Community College in Ann Arbor, Michigan, as Director of Institutional Research. Jackie did the Big Ten tour, starting with the University of Wisconsin at Madison and proceeding to the University of Minnesota, where she earned a B.A. in English. She detoured to Eastern Michigan University for an M.A. in English, then came back on track with a Ph.D. in Adult and Continuing Education from the University of Michigan. Jackie loves the Hudson River, the Shawangunk Mountains, the proximity to New York City, the movies, the live drama, the music, the vegetarian restaurants, the shopping and much else about the New Paltz area. And like all institutional researchers, Jackie loves data.

Mary Ann has been working at SUNY New Paltz since 1987. Prior to working at the Office of Institutional Research and Planning (OIRP), she worked at the Payroll Department and Human Resources Department. She attended Staten Island Community College and completed two years of business courses and has received several certificates from professional training and workshops. She is primarily responsible for managing the Student Evaluation of Instruction (SEI) process every semester, supporting the organization of the office, and supervising work study students. Her involvement in many organizations over the years such as Little League, Girl Scouts, Religious Education, Community Council, Walden Woman’s Club President and Chairperson for the Walden Harvest Festival earned her the 2006 Volunteer of the Year in the Village of Walden and has been entered in the NYS Honor Roll for State Federation of Women’s Clubs. When she finds time, Mary Ann enjoys spending it with her grandchildren.

Carly is entering her senior year here at New Paltz.  She is a mathematics major with a minor in business.  Recently, Carly was elected president of the New Paltz chapter of the Society for Industrial and Applied Mathematics (SIAM) and is working towards beginning a student chapter of the Association for Women in Mathematics (AWM) in the near future as well.  Carly’s duties in the Office of Institutional Research and Planning include working on the Graduating Senior Survey and the Alumni Survey in addition to a number of other projects.  She is looking forward to learning from all the talented women at OIRP.

Julie joined the OIRP staff in May 2007 as a financial analyst.  Julie is originally from Illinois, but also lived in Tucson, Arizona prior to moving to the Hudson Valley.   Julie earned her A.S. in Business from Dutchess Community college and her B.S. in Business from SUNY Empire State College.  In January 2005, Julie earned her MBA from Marist College in Poughkeepsie, NY.  Prior to working at New Paltz, Julie spent 17 ½ years at IBM in the Hudson Valley, where she held various positions including cost accounting and financial analyst roles.  Julie is a volunteer with AFS international exchange program; she participated in the program with a year abroad in Belgium during her high school years.   Julie’s free time is spent with her 18 year old son, and their animals, which include a guinea pig, a lizard, and one very spoiled kitty.

Althea joined the OIRP staff in December of 2006 after relocating from Long Island. She shares the experience of the SUNY student, having attending Nassau Community College prior to completing a B.S. in Mathematics and an M.S. in Biostatistics from SUNY Albany. Prior to joining the OIRP staff, she worked as a programmer for the US Department of Labor before spending a number of years in the banking industry providing database marketing support. Here she gained valuable experience working with large databases and a number of reporting tools. She is looking forward to assisting OIRP as it improves its analytic and reporting services. Althea currently manages the Common Data Set and is responsible for providing updates to the guidebook surveys. When she is not at work, Althea enjoys spending time with her husband and daughter.

Lucy joined the OIRP staff in November 2007 as a Senior Research Analyst. Prior to joining the OIRP staff, she worked in Computer Services for 9 years. Lucy held several titles within Computer Services including Senior Programmer/Analyst, Web Programmer and PC Support Technician. Lucy earned a B.S. in Mathematics from SUNY Albany. Prior to working at SUNY New Paltz, Lucy worked as a computer programmer for the West Point Association of Graduates and Siemens. She also worked as a technical trainer for the PC Learning Company. She has a wide range of experience working with databases, software and end-users. Her current responsibilities include ad hoc data request and projects for for internal and external audiences, updating regular trend reports at institutional, school/college, and departmental levels (e.g., Declared Majors, and Retention/Graduation for Full-time Freshman) and assisting with the Student Evaluation of Instruction (SEI) process.
