Expertise: I have served as a consultant to C-SPAN, have worked with the Commission on Presidential Debates, have attended presidential debates in two election cycles, and have slogged through the snows of New Hampshire to follow candidates in the New Hampshire Primary. I have been interviewed on NPR about the presidential debates and have written about presidential speeches for academic journals and conventions. I am currently the Vice President-Elect of the Eastern Communication Association, the oldest professional association of communication teachers and scholars in the nation.
Currrent Research: Presidential rhetoric following 9-11. The discourses associated with national monuments and memorials.
