Expertise: I currently teach two online sections of ARE 200: Art Criticism for the Art Education program each semester, and on section online in the summer. My SEI’s are consistently strong, and the student comments I receive are very positive. I created the online version of Art Criticism for Art Education in 2004. I also helped develop the course through several GE 3 categories: ARTS, IL, EE-W and EE-A. Additionally, I collaborate regularly with Linda Smith and Valerie Mittenberg in innovation and delivery of my online courses with regard to Information Technology and Information Literacy. I regularly contribute to scholarship in educational applications of technology, in particular to distance education. I recently (2009) published “Distance Learning in the Visual Arts” in Merlot/Journal of Online Learning and Teaching (co-authored with Linda Smith), and “Intersections: Online and Face-to-Face Teaching” in AACE’s EdMedia, co-authored with Linda Smith (AACE E-LEARN 2008 Proceedings). Additionally, “Art Criticism: Online and Face-to-Face” (co-authored with Valerie Mittenberg and Linda Smith) was presented and published in AACE’s EdMedia 2009. I presented “Art Criticism: Online and Face-to-Face” and “Distance Learning in the Visual Arts” at the 2010 and 2011 SUNY CIT Conferences. A previous paper “Online Development of Introduction to Drawing and Design” was published in IVLA’s Selected Readings in 2007. I presented a poster session at College Art Association in 2011 My work was juried by Donald Sultan into the Center for Contemporary Printmaking’s “Footprint International 2012” exhibit. My solo and group exhibitions this year received important reviews in Delaware & Hudson Canvas and Times Herald-Record.
