Location Of The State University Of New York At New Paltz

The State University of New York at New York is located in New Paltz, New York, a small, historic village (population 11,300) in the mid-Hudson Valley, midway between Albany and New York City (approximately 90 minutes by car from both cities); exit 18 off the New York State Thruway.

MTA Metro-North's Hudson Line has frequent service to the Poughkeepsie, New York train station. Taxi cabs are available most hours from the train station.

BY CAR

From the south: take the New York State Thruway (I-87) north to exit 18.

From the north: take the New York State Thruway (I-87) south to exit 18.

From the northeast: take the New York State Thruway (I-90) to Albany and then south (I-87) to exit 18.

From New Jersey: take the Garden State Parkway to Route 17 (exit 163). Proceed 14 miles to the New York State Thruway (I-87), north to exit 18.

From exit 18: turn left at the traffic light after toll booth. Turn left at the third traffic light onto South Manheim Boulevard (Route 32 South). Proceed ½ mile to parking lot on right at Haggerty Administration Building, or to Route 32 Lot, on the left side of Route 32.
