The college is in the process of phasing out its Nursing program as a result of reductions in the New Paltz operating budget. No new students are being admitted to the program. Students currently matriculated in the Nursing Program will be given an opportunity to complete their degree program. Description: The Nursing Honor Society at SUNY New Paltz is a chapter member of Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society of Nursing. This organization is committed to fostering excellence, scholarship, and leadership in nursing to improve health care worldwide. The Society promotes the use of nursing research in health care delivery and makes its resources available to those interested in the latest knowledge in nursing care. The Omicron Sigma chapter at New Paltz periodically sponsors workshops and conferences on nursing and health care issues.
