Record attendance expected at December CommencementDecember Commencement exercises will take place from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Mid-Hudson Civic Center in Poughkeepsie on Saturday, Dec. 17. The participation rate at the ceremony continues to increase – nearly 50 percent (475) of eligible candidates will participate in this year's ceremony – an 18 percent increase over 2004. The Valedictorian for the December ceremony will be Danielle Marie Parente of Schenectady. She is receiving a bachelor degree in Art Education. The Salutatorian, Sarah C. Altwerger of Castleton, is receiving a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Painting. The growing popularity of December Commencement may necessitate a separate graduate ceremony -- as is now done in May. Information will be made available as soon as plans for December '06 Commencement exercises are solidified. |
