
PublicationsJo Margaret Mano (Geography) gave an invited lecture, "To the Mountains: Exploring Historic Catskills Cartography" in Albany on Sept. 29 for the New York State Library's Public Program. She presented a paper, "Paradise Lost? Smart Growth, Takings and Oregon's Measure 37," and chaired a session at the Middle States Division of the Association of American Geographers annual meeting held at the Chautauqua Institution Oct. 14-15. The Freshmen English Composition Program presents: Judith Sloan at 7 p.m. on Nov. 17, in Lecture Center 100. Author of "Crossing the BLVD: Strangers, Neighbors, Aliens in a New America," Sloan will discuss the interviews and experiences of the "largely invisible lives and voices of new immigrants and refugees in the borough of Queens." She will also explain the interviewing process she used in gathering the information for her book. Everyone is welcome to attend.
