
What's New?Tuition for $10 winners are studentsThe SUNY New Paltz Foundation has announced that Peter Chernek of Newburgh is the grand prizewinner of the $4,350 "Tuition for $10" raffle. Chernek, a sophomore majoring in math, bought two tickets for the raffle and was chosen as the winner out of a total of 1,771 tickets sold. During the course of the six months that the raffle was held, the Foundation raised $5,500, which will go directly to the SUNY New Paltz Recruitment Scholarship Endowment. Alyssa Moore of Seaford, Long Island, was awarded the second place prize – $1,000 toward an on-campus meal plan, courtesy of Campus Auxiliary Services. Moore is a first-year student majoring in English education. The grand prize drawing took place on Oct. 8 at the Foundation Scholarship brunch. Holiday Open House invitations on the wayWatch for invitations to the annual Holiday Open House for faculty and professional staff, and the Awards Luncheon for classified staff (including those on Research Foundation Grants and University Police). The Open House, hosted by Steve and Jane Poskanzer, will be held at their home on Saturday, Dec. 3. Invitations will request your presence from 2-4 p.m. or 4-6 p.m. President Poskanzer will host the 20th Annual Awards Luncheon, sponsored by Sodexho, at noon on Friday, Dec. 9, in the Student Union Building MultiPurpose Room. Academic Senate to meet Nov. 4The Academic Senate will meet at 3 p.m.. on Friday, Nov. 4, in the Coykendall Science Building Auditorium.
